Side Jobs I Did When My Kids Were Young

As a lone parent, there were many days I didn’t have enough money to cover the bills. My kids were young, and most of my part- time earnings would go to a babysitter if I worked a traditional part- time job. So, I found ways to earn money without needing a babysitter. I won’t say that these earned a large amount of extra income, but every little bit counts. Check out the list below:

1. Babysitter-I was already watching my own kids, so two or three more wouldn’t make a difference. You could also do this with the elderly who may need some assistance with daily activities. I didn’t make a lot, but it has the potential to be lucrative.

2. Collect cans- I did this for about a year. This made very little money, but again, every little bit counts.

3. Tutor- This is another potentially lucrative career. However, this is heavily based on kids needing academic help. Today, you can tutor in person or online.

There are tons of other flexible money- making ideas out there. Nowadays, there are tons of side hustles one could do, but sometimes, the "tried and true" are the most reliable. What is a job that you found to help with expenses? I would love to read about your ideas.
